Małgorzata Semil – Theatre Critic & Translator (Poland)

Małgorzata Semil is a graduate of the English Department at Warsaw University and works as a theatre critic, translator, academic teacher and publisher. Since 1966 she has been a member of the editorial board of DIALOG, a monthly journal dedicated to contemporary drama, for which she was also deputy editor from 1989 to 2002.

Since 2002, she has been a member of the advisory board of the American quarterly TheatreForum and is a former literary manager of Teatr Powszechny (1995 – 2007) and literary advisor at Teatr Ateneum (2007-2010) in Warsaw. For four terms, she served as president of the communication committee of ITI/UNESCO, is a member of the board of ZAiKS and president of the playwrights’ section of the organization.

At the invitation of the new plays organisers at the Europe biennale in Wiesbaden (Germany), she  coordinated and moderated the forum of European dramatists at the last four festivals. She is also an associate member of League of Professional Theatre Women USA.
